My Arts and Crafts Meetup Group

Hey guys!

I have been up to the usual mischief, however I came up with a brilliant idea that is already in motion!

I stumbled upon the Meetup website a few years ago. I used to go to French gatherings with the French meetup group back in Wellington while I was learning French and it turned out to be a wonderful way of getting to know new people and an incredibly useful learning tool! So, while browsing the list of Meetup groups in Toronto I could join, I decided to create my own one, because none of the ones I saw offered what I wanted.

So here is what my group Arts and Crafts DIY Showcase and Talk in Toronto is about:

“Hello arts and crafts lovers! I am surprised at how awesome my idea of creating this group is! Ever since I left Design school, I’ve wanted to get together with like-minded people and recreate the Final Presentation atmosphere of a project. Quite often these presentations turned out to be the most valuable time spent at uni. Even though I do not work in the Design field, I always find time for my little art projects. I now want to invite all of you DIY Arts and Crafts makers to come to regular meet ups and bring along with you your creations, talk about the ideas behind them, the processes, what went wrong and what worked out for you, so you can educate and inspire the other members with your knowledge and receive some feedback. Let’s get the creativity flowing – there is so much we can learn from each other!”
